Privacy
This page explains browser storage, optional analytics, and external services on Hi China.
Short version
Hi China stores your cookie choice and any saved places in this browser. Optional Google Analytics runs only after you accept it and only on the current eligible reader pages. Rejecting optional analytics does not affect browsing or saved places.
Saved places
Places you save are kept in this browser only and are not synced to an account; Hi China has no reader account. Clearing this site's browser data removes your saved places and your cookie choice, and a browser that blocks storage may not keep either of them.
Optional analytics
When analytics is configured and you have accepted it, Google Analytics loads on the current eligible reader pages. The events Hi China sends are page_view, address_copy, place_save, and place_unsave. A page view includes the page title, a page location that keeps campaign labels and drops other query values, and a referrer reduced to the site origin and path; after navigation inside the site, that referrer can be the same sanitized previous page location, so any campaign labels kept there also appear in the referrer.
Application event payloads omit free-text searches, saved or copied address and place values, and private tokens. That describes what the site sends; it does not mean the analytics service receives no personal data, and Hi China does not describe analytics as anonymous.
Advertising storage, advertising user data and personalisation, and Google signals are disabled.
External services
External links and third-party resources have their own data handling. Opening a provider link or a source site is subject to that service's own terms and privacy policy.
Emailing info@hichina.fun gives the email service your address and message. Hi China does not set retention or deletion guarantees for that mailbox.
Accounts and staff access
Reading the public site needs no account. Editor and staff access uses a separate authenticated area and is not part of public browsing.
